17 Killed, 10 Injured in Military Aerial Bombardment of Shin Ywar Village in Pauktaw Township

On September 8, at 6 PM, the military conducted two airstrikes with jet fighters on Shin Ywar Village in Pauktaw Township. According to a report released by the Arakan Army (AA) on September 9, the attacks resulted in 17 deaths and 10 injuries.

The Arakan Army (AA) announcement states that Shin Ywar Village, where the military conducted airstrikes, is a location where prisoner of war and other prisoners are receiving medical treatment.

Among those who have died are senior military officials who were in poor health and needed medical treatment, people who were arrested and investigated under suspicion of being informants for the military council, Convicted persons, Prison staff, some Arakan Army’s health workers, and civilians and children from the surrounding area.

In AA announcement, there are seven prisoners of war who were killed in an airstrike, as well as the names of ten civilians from the Kyauktaw, Sittwe, and Pauktaw regions who also lost their lives. Additionally, the report states that there are ten others who sustained moderate to severe injuries.

On September 6, the No. 12 Police Battalion and Point Naval Base of the military council in Sittwe fired heavy artillery into Pauktaw Township, causing the destruction of civilian homes.

On September 7, the military council conducted an airstrike on Thandwe Township. The attack resulted in the death of a civilian schoolteacher, injured at least five other people, and caused extensive damage to many homes, according to local reports.

Across Myanmar, the military junta, which is losing control, continues to carry out airstrikes and bombings on towns it has lost. They are targeting schools, hospitals, clinics, religious buildings, and markets. As a result, innocent civilians, including pregnant women, children, and the elderly, are being killed in large numbers every day throughout the country.
