He said, “Today, around 4 PM, the military council dropped a bomb that hit near the Kin Taung Fire Station. One child was killed, and another child lost a leg. Several houses were also destroyed”.
A local resident reported that the military council has been repeatedly carrying out airstrikes on Kin Taung Village without any ongoing battles, causing the local people to no longer dare to live in the village and prompting them to flee.
He said, “All the villagers are running away. No one can stay. The military council has come without any reason and is dropping bombs. I feel like they are killing our people.”
The military council, facing military setbacks in Rakhine State, has been conducting airstrikes on the areas that have not experienced fighting since September.
Due to the continued airstrikes by the military council, there have been casualties among the displaced persons living in the Environmental Conservation Office in Thandwe Township, which is under the control of the Arakan Army.
