According to reliable sources from AA, the Arakan Army has completely captured Maungdaw Na Kha Kha (5), which is one of the military council’s remaining bases in Maungdaw Township, during the morning hours today.
The Arakan Army has launched an offensive against the remaining military base of the military junta, the Na Kha Kha -5, which is based in the town of Maungdaw, aiming to fully seize control of the entire town. According to reliable sources, the entire base was captured early this morning.
“Yesterday, the military junta carried out airstrikes, but on the ground, there are no more military forces left. This morning, the entire Na Kha-5 base was seized. However, some insurgents, including armed Muslim groups, ARSA, RSO, and ARA militants, as well as some junta soldiers, are still engaging in operations to clear the area,” he said.

The clashes between the Arakan Army (AA) and the Myanmar military forces began on November 13, 2023, and have continued over the past year. During this period of fighting, the Arakan Army has managed to take control of several significant towns in Rakhine State, including Pauktaw, Minbya, Maungdaw, Kyauktaw, Myebon, Ponnagyun, Ramree, Rathedaung, Buthidaung, and Thandwe, as well as the Paletwa region. Furthermore, the Arakan Army has also secured full control over the crucial border town of Maungdaw, which is vital for cross-border trade. Local sources report that the AA currently holds the entire town of Maungdaw.
Currently, the Arakan Army continues to launch attacks on military council army camps located in areas such as Manung, Taungkok, Ann, Sittwe, Mrauk-U, Kyaukpyu, and Gwa townships, where they are still engaged in ongoing operations. Yesterday evening, in Taungoke Township, the military council conducted airstrikes, and there was fierce resistance from the Arakan Army against these attacks.”
