According to military sources, soldiers from the military junta, stationed at the Western Regional Military Headquarters in Na Pa Ka within the Amn Township area, are reported to be trapped in an underground chamber due to a siege and assault by the Arakan Army.
The Arakan Army has successfully seized and taken control of over 30 military positions, including strategic locations such as the military junta’s headquarters in Ann Township, the major and minor military camps, battalion headquarters, and various other military bases. Currently, the only remaining target left for capture is Na Pa Ka headquarters.
The Arakan Army is continuing its offensive to completely capture Na Pa Ka headquarters, which remains the last major target. According to military sources, the junta’s forces stationed within the Air Force Division headquarters are now trapped in underground bunkers, unable to escape.
The Arakan Army has taken control of many of the military camps within Na Pa Ka, and now only a small number of Na Pa Ka remain trapped in the underground bunkers of the division. According to sources, these troops are confined in those bunkers, with airstrikes being the primary threat they face. Occasionally, they also encounter drone strikes, although these are less frequent,” the source stated.
The military junta had been sending ground troops to assist in the fight for control of Ann Na Pa Ka, but due to an ambush by the Arakan Army, the troops dispatched never reached their destination. Instead, the junta forces met their demise on the way, as they were attacked and killed by the Arakan Army along the route.
As a result, some of the remaining military junta troops trapped in underground bunkers within Ann Na Pa Ka are now being targeted by the junta, which is using aerial bombardments and armed drones to launch attacks on the area.
